Why smile is important?

Working alone in a small office can be lonely. It means you miss out on the chance to make friends with your coworkers. That's what happened to Maria in Mexico. She watched others in the company talking and laughing together. When she passed them in the hallway, she felt too shy to say anything.

After a few weeks, Maria told herself, "You can't wait for others to come to you. You need to go out and meet them."

The next time she went to the water cooler, she put on a big smile and said, "Hi, how are you today?" to everyone she saw.

It worked right away. They smiled back and said hello. Suddenly, the hallway seemed brighter, and her job felt friendlier.

Acquaintanceships developed and some resulted in friendships. Her job and her life became more pleasant and interesting.

The moral of this story is that taking the initiative to reach out and connect with others can lead to a more positive and enjoyable work environment. Instead of waiting for others to approach you, making an effort to greet and engage with coworkers can create a sense of camaraderie and make the workplace feel more welcoming and friendly.

One of the ancient proverbs says, "A man without a smile must not open a shop."
